Days past
Soem guy named Finnieous hired me and a few others, and then bought some slaves cheap. he intends to head into the wastelands to steal something from a long dead wizard. I don;t care as long as the money is paid.
Well that didn't go so well that double crossing Thief! Well maybe he was just stupid but he disappeared with the treasure and left us fighting skeletons.. i think he was just to stupid to realize the power of what he had.
Met up with soem adventureers named Hod, Vance, Jigger, and a half orc whose name sounds like a belch. They are a strange lot but that half orc can fight like 3 men. I will watch him closely and see if i can learn anything.
harvest festivus
I did it, i competed in the games and survived. First as a member of a team of 12 then as a pair and finally alone agaisnt 2 starving wolves.
Brack might be good with his axe but I am learning to use a sword.. i can still learn from him though
the road trip
Damn them! here i am busting my ass to ingratiate myself to that Braack character and learn soemthing from him, and they go off to investigate some underground tunnel. they don't come to see me fight in the arena and now they don't invite me to come with them. Damn! what do i need to do to join these guys?
guard duty
Stranger and stranger these preists seem. First Hod and Vance and Braack rescue us, then they abandon us. Now Hod has seen to it that we are both employed by the town guard at the request of the temple of Volturnus. Lycos is to guard the shrine of grumbar and I am to be sheriff for the community on the outside of the walls to the south of the city.
This is a good thing as the rounds in the arena are getting harder to deal with and harder still to escape uninjured. I suspect someone is rigging the game but I do not know who or how. Better to get out now and let the nobles who wager on the games deal with it.
I have even met a girl I fancy, who knows I may one day be captain of the guard with a family and the respect of the city.
Screams in the Night
Being Captain of the city guard is alot more work than I had imagined, either that or the old Capt. did less than he should have done. Night before last something happened to one of the hunter squads in the ruins and Balent and others were driven mad and attacked revellers at the festival. I do not wish to have to imprison or punish heroes but what am i to do? Hod and the others were on hand dto stop whatever drove Balent insane although it also seemed to affect Vance and possibly the others to a lesser degree. The temple has taken over the care of those afflicted and they are recovering my fear is that there may be more still lost in the ruins, undead turn up every day in ones and twos and are dealt with. Could there still be a malignant force in Volturnus that is behind these things? Dare i risk my men on it or should I turn it over to the council to hire adventureers or is it something dire enough that the lands greatest heroes need to be consulted?
