Historical Figures
Gregor III- Gregor III is widely hailed as one of the two finest kings of Phillidan. Only his great-grandson, Gregor VII is considered his equal and scholars argue endlessly over which was better, even forming their own Gregorian orders to discuss it.
Gregor III led his armies to war and was a great general. He drove the hobgoblins west of the mountain and would have gone further but for the intervention of a wizened crone whose advice he had come to trust.
Gregor VII- Gregor VII may have eclipsed his own great-grandfather to become the greatest king of Phillidan. Unlike his ancestor, he did not lead armies himself. Instead, he organized the baronies and made each of the eight noble houses responsible for one aspect of life in Phillidan, thus ending much of the bickering between nobles and their houses.
This was not an easy task as the nobles had been left with little to do but bicker after the success of Gregor III. It was rumored that Gregor VII had a witch adviser who helped him with many decisions.
Lord Hainsley- Some scholars question whether Hainsley was actually a person or more of a collection of individual misdeeds, similar to Robin Hood. He is the most reviled figure in Phillidan history. His list of evils is lengthy, but the tale of the chair leg is most famous. In fact, proper homes in Phillidan never have exposed chair legs.
To this day his name is invoked to help keep young women modest - looking like a "Hainsley Harlot" is among the worst things you can say about a lady.
Olir- Olir was the father of Magdar. Rumors that he consorted with demons have never been confirmed.
Tainsley I- Tainsley I followed Archibald III. He was neither well-liked nor successful as a king. His name is not retired but his record, and the similarity of his name to that of Lord Hainsley (q.v) have ensured that a Tainsley II is unlikely.
Myths and Legends
Dewey- Dewey is a dog with god-like powers. He is a part of the mythos of the seven luck gods and their seven venal virtues although his role in the mythology is never explained. He helped the party rescue Silador when he had been captured.
Myrryn- Member of an order charged with protecting the land from darkness.
Revere the Lowly- Though not truly a myth, Revere's disappearance remains a mystery.

Scarlet Pilgrim- Mysterious masked do-gooder who now aspires to the throne of Fillidan
Set- Set is a mighty god of Evil. Apep attacked him using some sort of shard which drained him of power.
