A brief description of the characters and their motives (as described by the players):
- Black Lotus - Tim
- Black Lotus is a martial artist. Growing up in the Chinese district of Bayport, he got tired of seeing the local shop keepers and citizens push around by the local gangs and bureaucrats. Now he has taken matters into his own hands and fights to defend the innocent.
- Dr. Arcane - Tom
- A Mystical Artist, Dr. Arcane believes that an essence of great evil will enter this realm and that the gateway is somewhere in Bayport or the surrounding areas. Dr. Arcane is often called upon when the police have to deal with a matter of mystical or arcane nature.
- Inu no Taishou - Keith
- Summoned from the past, this demon is by his very nature a guardian of man. While this age wears a veneer of civility, the darkness of time past still remains. So his duty is clear.
- The Owl - Joe
- A super powered hero who tries to keep it old school, relying on comic book morality to restrain his temper and his skills as a detective to solve crimes.
- Triton - Mick
- Triton was once a US Coastguard rescue swimmer who was sht during a rescue at sea that turned out to be drug dealers. He is now a life guard working Bayport beach while working undercover with the DEA and Border patrol. He finds the beach a good place to gather information. He got his name when someone said he swam like a triton, he was forced to look up the mthyical creature and decided he liked the way the name sounded and adopted it. He has never made a secret of his identity while being a hero (its so hard to be inconspicuous when you look that good) but he does not advertise his connections with the authorities.
