I hope the crew haven't disturbed my quarters. If they ruined the potions I have distilling I will have to summon something large and hairy into their bunks. Mage Armor and Expeditious Retreat will be useful.

Go to island, look around, meet interesting new people, maybe kill them. Baron always pissed, probably not happy to see us.

Huh?

I concur, knowledge will only be gained by pressing forward. And while the Baron may be our patron, I am less than sanguine about our reception in his lands.

I don't know about anyone else, but much as I miss her, I'm sure Ruin would say there's plenty of time to audition a replacement.

I've got Wreckage and Carnage and there's another mysterious island less than a bowshot from hear. At the very least, we ought to scour that island before we go back to enjoy our new wealth and report to the Baron.

ok the feats as skills works this way.. you choose to learn it.. you find a way to learn it (teacher, trial and error, practice, divine intervention etc.) then you have the skill at 1 rank and have to use a skill roll to make it work. after successful uses (5) over at least 3 play sessions, then you can have it as a feat. you can bonus skills in the same manner.. by finding a teacher and spending time practicing for 1 rank. I am doing this to promote role playing.

I was afraid mending wasn't as cool as it used to be... Guess I need to find a new axe or get used to yelling "War, Death, Wreckage!"

Question 1: Feats were allowed as skills, how will that play out? At what point do we have the feat?
Question 2: How do we do item creation, like scrolls or potions?

Small problem, Mending won't work on something that weighs over a pound.

It's right off of Cedric's equipment list, and the only thing that seemed minor and useful for a wizard.

I think a ring of sustenance is very minor.

Would a ring of sustenance be a minor magic item? So, a runaway "debutante" who is also a black sheep for breaking family tradition, a.k.a neither warrior nor priest.

I think a mage might be our shortcoming right now...

On Apr 26, 2008 at 11:02 pm Keith said :
How about a mage type? Or a maybe a rogue. The black sheep of a noble house?

On Apr 21, 2008 at 01:09 pm Mick said :
Minor magic would be ya know ...minor.. a ring, a plus 1 cloak.. things of that nature.. a magic sword or perhaps just a blessed non magical blade of kalid or Cedric. Figure the big important items were lost with the old characters into antiquity. Or perhaps all you got was the head of the dragon or non magic dragon hide armor from a dragon slain by braack. An ancient gold torc recovered from a city dead for millenia that Vance uncovered. It might be just an old religious tome written by Hod or Kumatai.. the choices and variations could be near endless.

What is considered minor magic?

I want to be the reincarnated tormented soul of Jaigger....
Ok, no, I really haven't decided. A couple of ideas:
- A noble descendant of Cedric/Kalid, basically a snooty warrior type
- A descendant of Vance, dedicated to restoring or keeping (depending on point of view) the Vandil name; likely a Rogue of some sort
- Some sort of odd wizard--could be descended from anyone.
- A descendant of Braack, tainted with Dragon Blood (from the Orb?), warrior type.

I'm thinking about a priest or a ranger. Most likely a ranger.
